Co-Founder and Managing Director
Martin invests in and develops successful solutions for micro businesses. He was previously involved in prosperous turnarounds of SMEs in the manufacturing sector and in raising funds for start-ups whilst advising and supporting them.
Latterly, Martin founded and developed Synatus for consultants and interims. In addition he co-founded and markets Micro Business Team in order to offer services to both networks and people running their own businesses.
In his free time Martin, who is married and has a daughter, enjoys sports, particularly tennis and golf. His true passion though is rock music and he is a devoted Pink Floyd fan.
Operations & Finance Director
Jo is an experienced financial controller and senior administrator. She has been involved in finance, HR and operations, which included working with a main board director at Paine Webber in New York.
Prior to joining Micro Business Team, Jo worked for 20 years as a Financial Controller for an SME. Her role involved all aspects of bookkeeping, payroll, debt collecting and HR. At Micro Business Team, she is responsible for Finance and Operations.
Outside of work commitments, Jo finds time to indulge her love of cooking, keep fit with Pilates and spend much-valued leisure time with her daughter.
Co-Founder and Accounting Director
Ben is an ACCA qualified accountant who has been working with start-ups and small businesses since 2000. He co-founded Micro Business Team to focus on providing cost effective accountancy and tax support that help you run your own micro- business more efficiently.
Ben is the lead accountant within Micro Business Team and is happy to discuss with you our modern system of cloud based working, using the industry leading IRIS Practice Management suite and Kashflow online accountancy system as a solid back-bone to the business. Ben is well versed in a wide range of tax planning areas including Research & Development Tax Credits, Enterprise Investment Scheme and Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme investments, and retirement planning.
While working in a top London company, Ben trained and supported young entrepreneurs before taking his own advice and setting up his own practice. Though careful with all matters financial, Ben fulfils his taste for risk through the adrenaline fuelled Tough Mudder. For the uninitiated, this involves a mud course of several miles with terrifying obstacles. Participants need physical stamina and mental toughness. And they say accountants are boring…..!
